WHERE EDUCATION MEETS EXECUTION

Great ideas deserve
real-world
foundations.

The classroom and the construction site have long spoken different languages. Talented graduates enter the AEC professions fluent in theory, yet unfamiliar with materials, site logistics, budgets and buildability.

Orbitecture, The Academia–Industry Council, brings institutions, students, practicing professionals, manufacturers and construction firms into one collaborative network — turning knowledge into practice.

01

Theory vs. Practice

Education and the site rarely meet. Graduates often discover the realities of building only after entering the profession.

02

The Journey After Graduation

Limited visibility of professionals after registration makes it harder for academia to learn from real career outcomes.

03

Classrooms Apart from Sites

Curricula are often shaped without direct connection to construction sites and the industry that builds on them.

Our focus areas, guided by the Leadership Council.

The Chairperson and the National Convenor steer the council. Each Vice Chairperson leads a portfolio and each Co-Convenor coordinates a programme, guiding students, institutions, architects, designers, and industry professionals toward a specific outcome.

Governance and Institutional Leadership

As Chairperson, Dr. G.V. Rao presides over the Leadership Council and provides governance oversight for Orbitecture, The Academia-Industry Council.

The Chairperson's oversight gives the council's work across academia and industry a steady institutional footing, and keeps every portfolio aligned with the council's purpose.
